Mary McCarron Memorial
Scholarship Fund
- Level 1 Priority
- In reviewing applications, priority is given to people applying to attend a Level 1 workshop for the first time. Scholarship applications can be considered for any HAI weekend workshop.
- Amount Available
- At this time the maximum scholarship available is up to $300. A deposit of $195 is required for registration. Full scholarships are not available. Scholarship awards are applied toward the balance payment, not the deposit.
- Application
- Please answer each question on the application to the best of your ability. If you are unable to answer a question, please indicate that and state why you are not providing that information. Download and print an application here.
- Review
- Please submit your application 45 days before the workshop you wish to attend as the volunteer Scholarship Team meets only once each month. Applications received after this time frame may not be reviewed in time for your requested workshop date. You will be notified by the HAI office as to whether or not you received a scholarship.
- Scholarship Expiration
- If you are granted a scholarship, you will have up to six months to use it. After that, the scholarship reverts to the general scholarship fund.
- Repeat Applications
- If your scholarship application is denied, you are welcome to reapply. If you have received a scholarship, you are not eligible to reapply for an additional scholarship for a period of at least one year. After that, you should indicate on your application that you have received a prior scholarship.
- Confidentiality
- Your application will be held in strict confidence, and reviewed only by the Scholarship Team.
- Contributions
- Money in the Scholarship Fund comes from donations from workshop participants. We request that if you receive a scholarship that you contribute to the Fund, if possible, at some time in the future. Thank you.
Contributions to the Mary McCarron Memorial Scholarship Fund may be made by check or credit card. Checks are made out to "HAI Scholarship Fund" and should be mailed directly to the Northern California HAI office. Visa/MC can be processed as well, We can run a credit card once a month if people want to do that, for example $20 a month for a year. There is a separate checking account and credit card machine for the scholarship funds, to keep the funds separate from HAI operating funds.
